Applying for a Director ID using the Online Application

Notes:

  • Only use the online application method if you already have a myGovID setup
  • Further, your myGovID needs have the highest identity strength for the online application

 Before starting, have the following items ready:

  • your tax file number (TFN)
  • your residential address as held by the ATO

Completing online application

  1. Click on this link
  2. Click Apply now with myGovID
  3. Enter the email address used for your myGovID
  4. Open your myGovID app on your phone
  5. Enter the code on your phone
  6. On the computer, tick the box next to I agree to the terms and conditions of use
  7. Click Next
  8. Type in your home address
  9. Type in your TFN
  10. Click Continue
  11. Tick the box next to I am an eligible officer or intend to become an eligible officer within 12 months of my application
  12. Tick the box next to I acknowledge that to be a director of a company I must meet the requirements of the Corporations Act 2001
  13. Click Next
  14. Select Yes or No to “I have previously been known by another name”
    • If Yes, enter the details of your previous name and click Done
    • Add all previous names before moving to the next step
  15. Enter your:
    • place of birth including country, city & state
    • residential address
    • postal address
    • mobile phone number
    • email address
  16. Click Next
  17. Review details on the screen, when correct tick the box next to I declare that: The information given on this form is true and correct
  18. Click Submit
  19. Record your director ID
  20. Provide your director ID to HQB
