Can’t find the cash to pay the taxman?

Feel like your business is on a week-by-week financial treadmill?

Not sure what needs to change to move forward?

Need working capital finance or a bank overdraft?

Business owners are busy people: they have clients to keep happy, staff to manage and fires to fight. With so much going on it can be easy to lose site of the financial position. Yet, the biggest cause of small business failure is simply running out of cash.

So, if you are a business owner, getting on top of your cash and profit position is crucial to ensuring the ongoing viability of your business, not to mention ensuring the security of your family and helping you to sleep at night.

HQB can help. Our team will sit down with you to understand your business and then set up budgets and cash flow projections to help you to better understand and manage your financial position. We provide tips and advise to improve profitability and cash flows. Plus we can assist in seeking finance when needed.

Our cash flow and profitability service generally follows a four-step approach:

Stage One: Profit & Loss Forecasting

The first step is to assess profitability. Bottom line: you need to be making profits to have a positive cash flow. If your business is making a loss or profits are weakening, it is critical that this be addressed.

We work with you to understand your sales and costs in detail and then develop a budget profit and loss for the next 12 months to 3 years.

Stage Two: Cash Flow Projections

Once you are comfortable with the profit & loss projections, our team will establish cash flow projections so you can identify potential cash flow crunch areas.

Our projections are set up to allow you to explore the impact of various management decisions, such as increasing prices or shortening credit terms. This will enable you to better understand the key drivers that affect your cash position.

Stage Three: Finance & Advice

Stage one and two will clarify the key drivers of your profitability and cash flows. We will provide you with detailed advice about the steps you need to take to improve your financial position moving forward.

Where projections suggest the need for working capital or overdraft finance to meet short-term demands for cash, we work with you to secure the necessary funds. We can assist with bank introductions and provision of financial reports to substantiate your case for funding.

Stage Four: Ongoing Tracking

We will set up reporting structures that enable you to easily monitor key drivers and performance versus budget on a month-to-month basis. This enables you to check in on financial performance, without losing focus on the day-to-day management of your business.

So long as tracking reports remain in line with projections, you can move forward with confidence.

If tracking reports suggest a problem, we will work with you to address issues and revise budgets as required.
